Words & Whispers

Words from the Lord during prayer and devotional journaling

    I hear the Lord say:

     As you look to the blue sky, you feel hope and wonder for good days to come. When you see clouds, don’t expect lack or loss. Clouds are part of the sky. Not all clouds are bad. Some bring rain and refreshment, watering the earth, bringing life and sustenance. Some are protective, bringing relief from a scorching summer sun. Some bring storms and lightning. Clouds, like trials, are meant to draw you to Me – I am your strong blue sky, brilliant with Light.  There is always a blue sky beyond the clouds.  All things I do in your life are for your good – for protection, for relief, for growth, for life, for blessing.

    Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;

    righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

    I hear the Lord say:

    Lean on Me – I bring rest, peace, contentment, and security. My loving arms hold you fast. I offer all the desires of your heart. Lift up your face to the warmth of the sun – the sunlight is Me, radiating warmth and life to your soul. I am the Light of Life.  It is I who guide you. I illuminate your path clearly, and without shadows. Drink in all I have for you. My joy is complete in you.

    Again Jesus spoke to them, saying,

    “I am the light of the world.

    Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,

    but will have the light of life.”

    I hear the Lord say:

    Dear one, let Me be a comfort to you in the stress of life. There are many things to be thankful for. Let your mind dwell on these. Family, friends, home, nature and ME. Be  mindful of Me and My overarching power and majesty. Instead of spinning your wheels on work duties that you can’t change, focus on abiding in Me. As you draw on my wisdom, I will help you accomplish all tasks efficiently and cheerfully.

    Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world! Your world, your work, your chores, your health issues – I have overcome them all! Breathe in my peace and rest (stay) there.

    Who is it that overcomes the world

    except the one who believes that

    Jesus is the Son of God?

    I hear the Lord say:

    I am good. I am kind. I bring rest to your soul. Worry is like a rat gnawing on your bones – it is poison to your mind. Worry puts the focus on negative instead of focusing on Me. My life and light abide in you so there is no room for darkness.  Your work duties are stressful but keep leaning on Me. I am showing you how to accomplish all things without stress.  Let your mind be at peace. Recall the phrase “peace like a river”. Take me with you in the wooden boat on the river and glide through the water. I steer the boat. Feel the breeze on your face, melting the cares away. Only joy and peace remain. A boat ride has no destination – it is just enjoying time outside, marveling at my creation, spending time with Me, content in My presence. This is my gift to you – be content. All is well.

    Oh, give thanks to the Lord,

    for he is good;

    for his steadfast love endures forever!

    I offer this song of praise to the Lord:

    The Lord is good to me!

    He brings me peace to replace anxiety. He offers to carry my burden and walk beside me. He brings joy to my countenance. With my eyes on Him, all troubles fade away. I can do all things with Christ at my side!

    He has given me supernatural power. I have his armor on my body – his breastplate of righteousness, his shield of faith, and his sword of truth. With these weapons, I am more than a conqueror! The enemy may fling arrows but my shield will deflect them! The enemy may hurl lies, but my breastplate declares my right standing with God and my sword cuts the lies to pieces! The Lord has equipped me to walk in victory. The helmet of salvation protects my mind and thoughts so I am secure in my eternal home with Christ.

    Christ abides in me. Christ lives through me. He is my Living Hope!

    I hear the Lord say:

    Dear one, you are beloved. I love you with an everlasting love. I hold you in my hands. You are surrounded by my enveloping love. No worries or cares, just my love.

    Do you hear the birds singing outside? They sing to remind you that I care for the sparrow and I care for you even more.  Don’t let the cares of the world bog you down. Claim my joy! Be my ambassador!

    Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

    I hear the Lord say:

    Do you hear that bird calling outside, moving from the back to the front of the house? You follow its voice and know its location. Listen to my voice and follow. I have a path laid out – you are on the right track. You can trust me to guide you. It is a pleasant path, with joys and surprises along the way. I take joy in giving you surprises. I delight in showing you treasures. All I have is yours. I don’t hold back my treasures from those I love. Continue to seek me with all your heart. Abide in me.

    In all your ways acknowledge him, and

    he will make straight your paths.
