Words from the Lord during prayer and devotional journaling

    I hear the Lord say,

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” I bring you a new dawn, a fresh day, wrapped as a present, just for you. A special gift for you alone. It is a gift poured out of My deep, everlasting, and abiding love for you. This day is your day to be filled with My love to overflowing: to be so filled, that you spill over with joy, peace and deep contentment. A new day to have fresh eyes and ears for My Words, My Ways and My Will. I bless you as a beloved daughter. Your blessings are so rich that you can share them with others. I will continue to pour out My peace, love, compassion and forgiveness to bring you deeper into trust with Me and in Me. A light of revelation will fill your heart. You see that My mercies are new every morning and that every day is a walk in victory with Me. You have the mind of Christ and you operate in a spirit of truth, love and compassion. You overcome obstacles and challenges because you walk with Me in integrity and reverence. Arise, shine! The day awaits you!

    I hear the Lord say:

Hope in Me all the day long. When you awake in the morning, I greet you with joy and purpose. It’s a new day and filled with hope and promise. Look for Me in the little things. See My hand in creation, in daily blessings, during work and rest time; I am your constant companion. At night, when you gaze at the stars and wonder at the glimpse of the marvelous universe, remember that you are more special to Me than any star. You are my beloved daughter! Things of the earth offer no permanent hope or blessings. Only I, the Sovereign Lord, who is All-in-All, can provide you with hope eternal. Hope for today; Hope for tomorrow; Hope for life everlasting.

    I hear the Lord say:

Look to the eternal and the permanent. Everything around you is temporary, but I am forever. I am forever with you and in you. You abide in Me and I abide in you. I am your forever home. When the storms of life buffet your home, rattling the windows and pelting the roof, remember that I am your shelter, your protection and your safety. My peace dwells in you. My Word is a shield as well as a sword. Take Me at My Word, full of truth and life. I will never leave you or forsake you. Shalom Peace, the peace that passes all understanding, is yours today and forever. Breathe in, breathe out. Perfect peace, lasting peace, joyful peace, contented peace – wrapped around you like a warm blanket. Be still and be whole, my beloved.

  • I hear the Lord say:

Like this amaryllis bulb, sleeping in its winter pot, my children spring to life when given water and sunshine. They are watered by the strength and power of Scripture and my faithfulness to love and care for them. They grow tall from the daily light and power from my Son, Jesus, who is their Shepherd, Gardener, Keeper, and Friend. Unfurling a beautiful bloom in the winter months, protected in the warmth of hearth and home, so My radiance shines from those who follow My will and ways. It is a glorious day, each and every day, expecting a new unfolding, a new revelation, a new insight into the depth and breadth of My unfailing love.

    I hear the Lord say:

“Peace, be still” are the words my Son, Jesus, used to calm the storm while in a boat with the disciples. You are amazed that He was sleeping in the midst of the storm. He could do this because He had My perfect rest inside and out. As fully human and fully God, He could experience and relate to all the fears that you face as humans. But His divine nature took precedence as He rested in the boat. Upon being awakened by the terrified disciples, He commands the wind and waves to be calm. A raging storm that was about to engulf the boat suddenly disappears. The disciples are astonished. It is another example of Jesus’ lordship and authority. Realize that when you call on the name of Jesus, you call on the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He has supreme authority over heaven and earth. When the day brings events that rock your boat, remember Jesus is in the boat with you. He will steady your feet, realign your mind and calm your heart. Think of Him as your anchor, your captain and your navigator. Jesus will chart the path ahead to clear skies and calm waters. New storms may arise but you now know that Jesus is at your side to weather the storm and increase your faith day by day.

On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

    I hear the Lord say:

Come up to the mountain top with Me. The climb may be arduous but it is worth the view. I will hold your hand and steady you in the rocky patches. I will place stepping stones for you to traverse muddy terrain. I will walk with you each step of the way. We will see the marvelous woodlands, granite outcroppings, forest animals, delicate lady-slippers, and delightful mountain streams. You will hear the sweet melodies of songbirds and the call of the eagle. The sweet smell of damp earth, pine trees, cedar and cypress mingle in the air. The climb is exciting and exhilarating. You discover new treasures around each bend. There is more higher up and deeper in. As you ascend the mountain with Me, you will reach the top and embrace the expansive view. You see things differently up here. You have a new perspective. The view is wide and breath-taking. You see the ‘big picture.’ Your place in the world is secure. Your identity in Me is solid. All things are possible to those who believe and who call on My name.

He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights.
