    A praise  poem to my loving heavenly Father:

    Ever faithful, ever true,

    You never let go.

    You never let go of me.

    A rock, A fortress.

    Immovable, Immutable.

    A shelter, A hiding place.

    A respite from the storm.

    A refuge of comfort and peace.

    A strong tower.

    Ever faithful, ever true

    I run to You.

    I hear the Lord say:

    One day is like a thousand years. A thousand years is like one day.  Your waiting seems interminable. I understand.  I am with you in the waiting.  When despair and discouragement rear their ugly heads, chop them off with my Sword of Truth. They have no place in your life. The truth is you are united with Me in power and strength. Take off your blinders and put on your spiritual sunglasses. (The truth is so bright, you need sunglasses!)  With eyes focused on My dazzling brilliance, all else fades away. Nothing is impossible. Waiting is easy when you wait with Me.  Instead of moping or pacing, fretting or fuming, walk with Me in the garden.  We will talk, laugh, sing and enjoy our time together. Time is irrelevant. The issue at hand is solved in My timing and in My strength.  You don’t have to do anything but trust.

    For the Lord God is brighter than the brilliance of a sunrise!

    Wrapping himself around me like a shield,

    he is so generous with his gifts of grace and glory.

    Those who walk along his paths with integrity will never lack one thing they need, for he provides it all!

    I hear the Lord say:

    As you listen to the song “Hills and Valleys” by Tauren Wells, remember that I am beside you on the mountain and I carry you through the valley. As you walk through a forest valley, you will find surprises and treasures of dainty wildflowers, moss covered rocks and babbling brooks.  Valleys are not all desert experiences. In the valley, you may have to take rests in the upward journey, but the rests will provide timely respite with new insights and perspectives.  Stopping to rest allows you time to ponder the mysteries of My love, grace and mercy.  Resting on a fallen log, you take a refreshing drink of water, you hear bird song and feel a light breeze on your face.  Your  mind and body relax.  You see a stand of ferns and lady slippers, trillium and other wild flowers.  There is no need to move on yet.  Savor the moment.  Be thankful. Be still. All is well.

    Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness,
    fear will never conquer me, for you already have! You remain close to me and
    lead me through it all the way.  Your authority is my strength and my peace.
    The comfort of your love takes away my fear.  I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.

    I hear the Lord say:

    As you continue to grow in Me, your garden will flourish and  multiply. Like the hardy verbena spreading left and right, like a sunflower turning to follow the sun, like a butterfly bush attracting butterflies, your garden will nourish and encourage. Be alert to keep out weeds that will choke your plants. My truth, My Word, is the best weed killer. I bring rain and sun to care for your garden. I am in control of your seasons. Let Me show you more of My goodness.  Be expectant for more blessings!

    We are coworkers with God and you are God’s cultivated garden,

    the house he is building.

    I hear the Lord say:

    Open your eyes to see and ears to hear. I speak to you daily through Scripture, nature, song and inspired thought. Recall My heavenly army is at your side. You can trust Me in all things – waking, sleeping, eating, working. I satisfy your inner longings – longings for contentment, peacefulness, joy and fulfillment.

    When you open your generous hand,

    it’s full of blessings,

    satisfying the longings of every living thing.

    I hear the Lord say:

    I want you to surrender – surrender your parenthood, surrender your health, surrender your job, surrender your strife, surrender your perfectionism, and surrender your misconceptions that you can control life.  Your mission is to empty yourself each morning and be filled with my Holy presence. With my Holy power, you will find new energy, new insight, more than enough time to accomplish things AND joy unspeakable in the midst of it!

    But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:

    the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;

    his mercies never come to an end;

    they are new every morning;

    great is your faithfulness.

    I hear the Lord say:

    You are my treasure. I created you uniquely and at the right time in history. You are not an accident. I knew you before you were born. I placed you on earth at the right time and for a specific purpose. I have delighted in watching you grow. As new parents exclaim in delight over their toddler taking her first step, so I delight in you.  When you fall down, I pick you up. I dust you off and steer you back on course.  When you got an ‘independent’ streak, I patiently waited for you. I welcomed you back with open arms. Nothing can separate our love. Nothing can separate our love.

    For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers,
    nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor heights nor depth,
    nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the
    love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
