Words from the Lord during prayer and devotional journaling

    I hear the Lord say:

I pour out My Spirit to all those who believe and desire to receive.  I give freely and fully. I am available 24/7, offering life-giving encouragement, support, inspiration and discernment.  Come to Me with all your problems, concerns, issues and petitions.  Let Me reassure you that I care for you and know what is best for you. I’ll answer all your questions.  I’ll give you insight from my heavenly throne.  I’ll show you My perspective. Find your soul-satisfaction in and through Me. My joy is yours – feast on it!

    He refreshes my soul.

He guides me along right paths for his name’s sake.

    I hear the Lord say:

Day by day, seek Me in the stillness.

Open your heart and mind to new possibilities.

Let me lead you in our dance called Life.

Rhythms of grace gently pulse over you, a gentle wind,

a symphony of sound, calling you

    – come in, come closer, come deeper, come higher.

…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,

the oil of joy instead of mourning,

and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

    Isaiah 61:3

    I hear the Lord say:

Dear one, you are indispensable to Me!  You matter to Me. I created you and you alone because I saw you before you were born.  I knew the joy you would bring to your parents, your siblings and your friends.  I designed you uniquely and have a special plan for you.  Only you can accomplish it.  I designed your personality and it is good.  Continue to draw near, rely on Me; only listen to My voice.  Ignore feelings of aloneness or fear.  You can trust Me all the time. My strength is your strength.  My joy is your joy. Let the day unfold in communion with Me.

Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
    whose confidence is in Him.

    I hear the Lord say:

Recall the Christmas song “Joy to the World”.  You sing for joy at the coming of your Savior. Now your Savior, Jesus, lives inside you. Even more reasons to sing for joy! Joy abides in you. Joy stemming from the heart of the one who loves you with an everlasting love. As Mandisa sings “Joy Unspeakable” and as Bach composed “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring”, the world sings of the heavenly arrival of the blessed Savior. You can sing for joy over My abiding presence within you day and night. Sing songs of deliverance, songs of praise, songs of adoration, songs of comfort, songs of healing, songs of hope.

    Sing to Me, my beloved.

Sing with joy in the morning and peace at night.

“Hear this, you kings! Listen, you rulers!

    I, even I, will sing to the Lord;

    I will praise the Lord,

the God of Israel, in song.”

    Judges 5: 3  NIV

    I hear the Lord say:

My joy is complete in you. You have access to an inexhaustible supply house of joy and happiness. It can’t be contained, but bursts forth in radiant splendor! Joy was present at creation, as all things were formed and came to life. Joy is present in a newborn’s cry; in a baby’s laughter, in a child’s discovery of his toes! Joy is present in celebrations, in weddings, birthdays, and Christmas.  Joy in worship – lifting your voice in praise and adoration – floods your soul.

So leap for joy – since your heavenly reward is great.

    I hear the Lord say:

Joy is my steadfast presence. When trials come, and are endured and overcome, joy returns.  My joy is an undercurrent that remains constant in your life. Joy is possible in all circumstances because of My Holy presence in your life.  Joy is possible because you can trust Me in all circumstances. Joy is sweeter when it is tested and tried.  It becomes a conviction, not a result of a happy event.  Joy is the abiding presence, the constant companionship, and the enduring love of Jesus in your heart, mind and soul.

My purpose for telling you these things

is so that the joy that I experience

will fill your hearts with overflowing gladness!

    I hear the Lord say:

As the snow gently falls, so my love for you cascades in gentle waves, covering you completely in a blanket of love. I cover you in a blanket of snow, crisp and white, pure and holy. It is a slow process, no hurry, no rush. Snowflakes never rush! They sparkle and shine; they are a beauty to behold; they fill the sky and create a winter wonderland. My love is like that – it is full, it is gentle, it is all encompassing – it is pure – it is holy- it is new.  It covers past mistakes and gives a fresh start. Have you ever wondered why I made snow white? White is the color of purity. White snow covering trees and lawns shows a contrast to the multi-colored world you usually see.  White snow creates a winter wonderland that showcases my marvelous nature. The seasons have unique sets of beauty marks. Each season has a ‘newness’ to it and reminds you of my everlasting creativity and majesty. Your life has seasons too – and each season brings you closer to Me. Grow with Me as I abide in you.

The Lord says, “Now let’s settle the matter. You are stained red with sin,

but I will wash you as clean as snow. Although your stains are deep red,

you will be as white as wool.”   Isaiah 1:18   GNB
