Words from the Lord during prayer and devotional journaling

    I hear the Lord say:

    Trust Me. It’s a simple phrase but one filled with promise, with strength, with hope. When you lay down your worries and fear and say ‘I trust you Lord to take of this situation”, you are allowing My mighty Hand to begin to work. Your fretting does nothing but pull you away from the abundant life I have for you. I knew before you knew. I will provide a way to overcome. I will open the door to a solution. My timing may not be your timing, but My timing is perfect. Learn to lean in and be content in the waiting. By trusting in Me, there is room in your heart and mind to experience peace and joy. When fear and worry consume you, the enemy is robbing you of peace and joy. Allow My loving care and compassion to so fill your heart and mind that there is no room for fear or worry. I’ve got you.

    'Don’t be afraid, for I am with you; don’t be distressed,
    for I am your God. I give you strength, I give you help,
    I support you with my victorious right hand.'
     Isaiah  41:10 CJB

    I hear the Lord say:

    You were created with eyes in the front of your head. You are meant to look forward. Life moves in a forward direction. Growth is forward-moving. Grow in Me, with eyes looking forward on the path, following My lead, staying in step with Me, reaching for more. I have an abundant life, full of vigor and potential, waiting for you. Take hold of it now; run the race with My strength and authority, keeping your eyes fixed on Me. Awe and wonder await you as you see My plans unfold. There is more than you can imagine. Look up, fix your gaze on the horizon, abide in Me and watch Me do the miraculous!

    Let your eyes look straight ahead,
    fix your gaze on what lies in front of you.
    Proverbs 4:25  CJB

    I hear the Lord say:

    Look forward and not backwards. Dwelling on past mistakes is a futile exercise. You can’t change it and you have already been forgiven for all past sins. Regret and remorse only pull you away from the joy and peace that is yours today. Walk beside Me and look ahead to a future filled with hope and promise. Walking is always a forward motion. You have a destination and a purpose. Abiding with Me lets you walk with confidence. The future is scary when you face it alone. The future is glorious when you behold it with My eyes. Take a look around. See My goodness. Reflect on My everlasting love. Embrace the peace that passes understanding. All is well as we walk as one.

    Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 ESV

    I hear the Lord say:

    Be alert to your thoughts and your thought patterns. Be aware that your thoughts reflect your belief system. Your thoughts reveal what you truly think about yourself, about Me, about life and about the future. Do your thoughts line up with My thoughts? If your thoughts do not mirror Scripture, if your thoughts do not focus on love, hope, mercy and kindness, then a reset is in order. Don’t judge yourself but merely take that thought captive, throw it out the front door, and meditate on the truth of My Word. Singing a praise song, reciting a psalm, recalling My goodness and faithfulness will get you back on track. It’s a practice that you will do over and over. It’s the process of renewing your mind. Your joy will increase as you learn to discipline your mind to think and speak ‘faith, hope and love.’

    “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. I Corinthians 2:16 ESV

    I hear the Lord say:

    To walk in step with Me means you and I have to agree on our destination. Walking together requires a united plan and purpose. A covenant bond exists between the two of us. We are yoked together by love and commitment. At times, you may veer off course and get lost in the weeds but I am here to bring you back along the designated path. If you stay yoked to Me, I will guide and protect you. I will strengthen you through trials and temptations. I will bring others in your life for encouragement, fellowship and pruning. A walk with Me is not a lark, not a ‘walk in the park”. A walk with Me is a divine appointment where we can accomplish great things together. Come, take My hand and let us journey together. A great adventure awaits!

    Trust in Adonai with all your heart;
    do not rely on your own understanding.
    6In all your ways acknowledge him;
    then he will level your paths.
    Proverbs 3:5-6  CJB

    I hear the Lord say:

    The term ‘power’ is used in many ways. Power is associated with strength, might, control and authority. As Almighty God, I am full of power and majesty. But with My power, I do not choose to manipulate or control my children. I am willing to share My power and authority to those who follow Me. Humans have corrupted power through selfish ambition and pride. True power and authority is wielded for the benefit of those under the ruler. As your heavenly Father, you can rely on Me to use My authority to carry out plans and purposes for your good. You were created to share in My power through love, obedience, and humble submission. As Jesus, My Son, humbled Himself on the cross, and demonstrated his authority over both natural and supernatural, He fulfilled the divine plan to return My children to fellowship with Me. You are a co-heir with Christ. You can walk with authority.

    The Spirit himself bears witness with our own spirits that we are children of God; and if we are children, then we are also heirs, heirs of God and joint-heirs with the Messiah… Romans 8:16-17 CJB

    I hear the Lord say:

    For your muscles to get stronger, they need resistance.  Weight bearing exercises force your muscles to work harder, and therefore get stronger. Resistance training is important in other areas, too. Your mind benefits from training as well.  If you want your thoughts to align with hope and love, you must exercise your mind by meditating on the truth of My Word.  When negative thoughts come into your mind, resist them by switching to thoughts of My perfect truth. Perfect love casts out fear; unconditional love casts out doubt, everlasting love casts out worry. Just like with muscles, if you don’t use them, you lose them.  Thought patterns can be changed to reflect trust in Me but it must be a daily exercise.  There are many negative forces in the world trying to pull you away from My perfect love.  Keep your strength up by taking a daily dose of Scripture, prayer, meditation and time with Me.  I am your strength. I am your song.

    and you are to love Adonai your God with all your heart, with all your soul,
    with all your understanding and with all your strength.
