    The Good Shepherd

    Lord, You are the Good Shepherd

    Who cares for His sheep

    with constancy and concern.

    You guide and protect,

    You nurture and nudge;

    Your eyes never sleep.

    You see each one,

    young and old, weak and strong.

    You guide us to green pastures

    and fresh waters,

    You protect us from harm.

    When one of us goes astray,

    You go after us.

    You look and look and look

    until You find us.

    Then with great rejoicing,

    You bring us back into the fold.

    You desire that no sheep are lost.

    Your joy is seeing Your sheep

    in the safety of Your kingdom.

    Your loving care

    makes all the difference.

    I hear the Lord say:

    I chose you. I chose you before the creation of the world. I chose you before time began. You and your time on earth were chosen especially for you. I delighted in you before you were born. Your place on the planet is perfect for you. You, right now, right here, in My loving arms, in My sweet presence, communing with Me, laughing with Me, are my joy and delight. I chose you. You are mine. I cherish you. I reveal Myself to you. I share your joys and sorrows. I bring you comfort and conviction. I desire what is best for you. I chose you.

    In the Messiah he chose us in love
    before the creation of the universe to be holy
    and without defect in his presence.
    Ephesians 1: 4  CJB

  • I hear the Lord say:

    Advent means ‘expectancy’ – the anticipated arrival of the gift from God to man – My own son, Jesus. It is a man-made tradition but one of significance. It is good to take time to reflect on the celebration and anticipation of Messiah King. Anticipation has been transferred to material possessions unfortunately – gifts under the tree. Gifts are nice but no gifts rival the sacrificial gift of Jesus. His birth, life, sacrifice, death and resurrection are your gifts beyond compare! An indescribable gift! A divine gift! A gift from God to man to come and dwell with Him. Heaven invades earth – it shakes ‘religion’ to its core and brings Truth and Life to every believer. The Light of the world now lives in us, through Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit). Can you fathom it? The Holy One of Israel bids you come sit beside Him at the right hand of God. Can you perceive it, can you grasp it? The divine invading the flesh in order to unite God and man? Jesus in the flesh and then Jesus in your flesh? God incarnate through Jesus and Jesus incarnate in your spirit – how much God loves His children, how much He wants to abide in them, how much He wants to work through them?

    You are the hands and feet of Jesus – you are the church. You follow Jesus. You die to self. You live to follow the ways and will of Father God. The King has come!  Alleluia!

    On Thanksgiving – A poem

    Abundance

    Lord, I am grateful

    for the abundance you pour into my life.

    I am grateful

    for the seen and unseen blessings and provision,

    for the plans and purposes You have so carefully tailored,

    for the love and joy You so freely share,

    for the rest and refuge of Your loving arms.

    Lord, I am grateful.

    For the family and friends in my life,

    for my gifts and talents, for my weaknesses and doubts

    that draw me closer to You.

    Lord I am grateful for your saving grace,

    Your mercies new every morning,

    and Your lovingkindness and faithfulness.

    I will praise the name of God with a song;

    I will magnify him with thanksgiving.

    I hear the Lord say:

    The sound of the rain is a reminder of my ever present love ‘raining’ down on you. I love to shower you with blessings and saturate you with love. My clouds of mercy hover over you. My strength and power are yours, greater than the bolts of lightning that flash across the sky. My Holy rain pours down to fill you with rivers of living water. You thirst no more. My well will never run dry. I bring rain puddles for your joy, to splash in and soak your socks. I pour out a spirit of grace on My children. Like a fog after the rain, I blanket the earth in My love and compassion. The dewdrops of heaven glisten in the sun as reminders that the Son/the sun is always present, ever faithful, burning brightly, radiating goodness. And last but not least, I paint a rainbow in the sky to remind you of My covenant of mercy and grace. Selah.

    For I will pour water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground;
    I will pour my Spirit on your descendants, my blessing on your offspring.

    I hear the Lord say:

    When you face trials and challenges, and feel too weak to fight, stand. Stand your ground and ask Me to call on My angel armies to fight for you. Your mind is a battlefield, too. As you stand, marshal your inner strength with the power of my Word. It’s alive and sharp, and able to penetrate the doubts and fears you harbor. When you feel like giving up, cast off those feelings and embrace the Truth. Remember that My Word stands forever. Remind yourself that Christ abides in you and you in Him. We are woven together, tightly knit, like a three strand cord, unable to be broken. Remain yoked to Me and let Me guide and protect you. Call on Me in your distress. I will answer. I will comfort. I will provide shelter from the storm.

    And though one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12 AMP

    For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11 ESV

    I hear the Lord say:

    Hope in Me. Hope is more than a wish, more than a whim. You have heard of “hopeful thinking.” A thought that ‘maybe this might happen.” I can assure you that when you hope in Me, you are guaranteed to have success. Because My mind has only loving thoughts toward you, because I only have blessings to pour on you, because you are uniquely and beautifully made, your hope is secure. This does not mean that trials will not come. This means that the world, with all of its tribulations, does not have a say in your future. Your future is secure in Me. Your future is safely in My loving arms. Your today and tomorrow, your prayers and petitions, your trials and tribulations, are in My capable Hands. See the mystery of love… how it overcomes, how it reassures, how it never ends. My love for you is everlasting. Hope in Me.

    Guide me in your truth, and teach me;
    for you are the God who saves me,
    my hope is in you all day long.
    Psalm 25:5  CJB
