Words from the Lord during prayer and devotional journaling

    I hear the Lord say:

Hope is more than wishful thinking. Hope is a seeking, a longing, a conviction, that a brighter future is coming. Hope is trusting in Me when life’s circumstances look bleak. Hope is standing in faith and in the promises of My word for today and for tomorrow. Hope is restful assurance that your Heavenly Father is in charge and is moving on your behalf. Reading Scripture verses on ‘hope’ and ‘faith’ will bolster your spirits. You will rise each morning with joy and calm assurance that each day brings you closer to Me, closer to victory, closer to viewing life with the mind of Christ. There is good reason to hope. In times of doubt, worry or confusion, look up and look at the truth of My Word. Your hope will blossom and bloom, giving off a fragrance of joy and peace that blesses others as well as yourself. Hope in Me. Trust in Me. You are mine. I care for you and send My Holy Spirit to encourage, comfort and protect.

“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?

Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,

    my salvation and my God.

    Psalm 42:11 ESV

    I hear the Lord say:

Visiting the Sunflower garden, you saw row upon row of giant sunflowers: an abundance of food for birds and bees; a bounty of seeds. My love for you is of similar abundance. As there were more than enough sunflowers for the goldfinches and bumblebees, so I have more than enough for you. I am not stingy nor do I begrudge providing for you. I give freely and I give out of My abundance. I desire to shower you with good gifts. I have more than enough and I love to share. Recall Isaiah 55 and my offer to come and dine with Me. Join Me at the banquet table! A feast awaits you!

Adonai is my shepherd; I lack nothing. Psalm 23:1 CJB

    I hear the Lord say:

Stand tall. Stand tall like the sunflower that stretches high above the others in the field. Stand tall in the promises of My word and My testimony. Be brave. Your strength comes from My victory. Reach up to Me for a greater and broader view. You can rise above the circumstances of life that attempt to pull you down. Each morning, rise up and start your day focusing on Me, My promises and My goodness. Spend time in prayer and praise. Time with Me is well spent! As you get to know Me better, you will see that mercy and grace follow you through the day. You will have God encounters in increasing numbers. I go before you; I walk with you, I keep you grounded and centered. My joy is your joy; My peace is your peace. My fellowship is sweet.

Taste, and see that Adonai is good. How blessed are those who take refuge in him!

    Psalm 34:9 CJB

    I hear the Lord say:

“Wash N Wear” is the clothing label that appeals to many people, especially the moms who do the laundry. Buying and owning clothes that do not need ironing is a great time saver. I have good news for you. Jesus is ‘wash n wear’ too! At any time you feel down, discouraged or negative, you can come to Jesus for a ‘wash”, a cleansing, a fresh start. With the Living Water, you are cleansed from all mental, emotional and spiritual pollutants. His Word reminds you of your worth and value, and right standing with Him. Then you “wear”: you go out clothed in the righteousness of Christ, equipped with His armor, the Word of God, to tackle the day. You can handle everything thrown at you because you have the power and authority of Christ for victory. Your clothing is a robe of righteousness, purchased by the blood of the Lamb, to be worn day and night. As you dress each morning, remind yourself of your kingdom identity and kingdom purpose. Then, conquer the day!

I am so joyful in Adonai!

My soul rejoices in my God,

for he has clothed me in salvation,

dressed me with a robe of triumph…

    Isaiah 61:10 CJB

    I hear the Lord say:

Be gentle. Be gentle with yourself; be gentle with others. The demands of life can swallow up your day and make you feel that you have to rush, over-plan, or brush off conversational encounters. Instead take each day as an opportunity to be present, to recognize the need of deliberate choices for chores and down time. Seek opportunities to engage others in friendly and encouraging conversations. A kind word, a heartfelt smile, a helping hand, or a sincere compliment can make someone’s day. As an ambassador for Christ, you may be the only person that day who shared love and kindness to another. Make each day count. You will be blessed as you bless others.

In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 CJB

    I hear the Lord say:

As a gardener tenderly cares for a flower garden, know that I tenderly care for you. With love, attention, protection, and nurturing, I watch over you. I make sure you have what you need to grow, to flourish and to withstand the elements. I give you healthy soil, a firm foundation, which is My Word: Scripture promises and stories of old to prove My enduring love and fidelity. I give you sun and rain to nourish your soul and spirit, body and mind, with the Light and Life of My Son, and Holy Spirit reigning in your heart. I can help root out weeds that choke or inhibit your growth. I look forward to each new stage and step you take toward greater maturity and insight into Kingdom living. As plants mature and grow under the watchful eye of the gardener, know that you will thrive under My loving care.

Know that I am the Master Gardener, the Good Shepherd, the Living Word, and the Light of the World. With Me, nothing is impossible.

“I am the vine and you are the branches. Those who stay united with me, and I with them, are the ones who bear much fruit; because apart from me you can’t do a thing. John 15:5 CJB

    I hear the Lord say:

You are more than enough. It is unwise to compare yourself to others. I made you as one of a kind and there are no repeats. Those around you are also one of a kind. I created each one of my children to be unique and special, with different gifts and strengths. Each person also has a different life story. You only see them in part; you do not know their full story; nor do they know yours. Your focus is to be on Me, Your Savior and King, and your goal is to become closer to Me. Your life journey is unique. Your redemption story is also unique. Like plants in the garden, I call you to be your best and not to try to copy or compete with others. The garden is most beautiful when there is a variety of plants and flowers. Keep your eyes on Me. Be content in My love for you.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
