I hear the Lord say:
A sling and a stone – not the usual weapons of warfare. The shepherd boy, David, used these as his weapons of choice to fight and defeat Goliath. He had to ignore the derision of his older brother. He had to reject the advice of King Saul to wear his armor. David assured the king that he fought lions and bears to protect his sheep. He was incensed to hear the Philistine warrior mock the God of Israel. He had it in his heart to defeat this enemy and bring glory to his God and King.
David is not my only warrior. You are my warrior, too! I have imbued you with unique qualities and gifts to use for kingdom purposes. Your gifts qualify you to reach your God-given dreams, to open your mind and heart to new possibilities, to rise above the mundane and overcome obstacles that hinder or discourage. With Me at your side, we can do wonderful things!
Keep on hoping, keep on dreaming, keep on trusting.
