Words & Whispers

Words from the Lord during prayer and devotional journaling

I hear the Lord say:

A warm fire is just the thing on a cold winter’s night. The heat and the glow warm both your heart and soul. A warm fire is comforting and welcome against winter’s chilly temperatures. A fire needs fuel to burn. A fire starts with kindling and paper, then can handle larger logs. People can use bellows to encourage the flames to grow. It must be tended and replenished with fresh wood regularly. Like the spirit within you, fan the flames of your love and devotion for Me. Don’t let the fire go out but keep it burning with regular time of reading Scripture, meditating on My Word and My truth, seeking My will and enjoying My provision. The flame of Holy Spirit is alive in you but it will only grow if you feed it, tend it, and maintain it. My love for you is like a giant bonfire, with flames lighting up the night sky, roaring with power and might, shining with intense heat! Take this torch, this clarion call, the gospel message, and share the Light of the Gospel with others. Your fire can spread and ignite the love of Jesus in others. A little spark to start, then a flame, growing to a roaring fire as you diligently feed the fire of your love for Me. Your fuel, which is fellowship with Me, will keep you burning brightly.

… I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you…
