    My Psalm to the Lord

    I composed this Psalm to the Lord:

    The Lord is good to me.

    He protects me under the shadow of His wing.

    He surrounds me within the cleft of the rock.

    He is my fortress, my stronghold. He is my strength.

    He equips me to do His good works.

    He is mighty to save. I honor his Holy Name.

    Keep his command close to your heart.

    Meditate on his holy Word day and night.

    His commandments are pure and righteous.

    Holy is His Name.

    But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood,
    a holy nation, God’s special possession,
    that you may declare the praises of him who called you
    out of darkness into his wonderful light.

    I Peter 2:9   NIV
